Candle and Soap Maker
Kidpreneur
Not long ago my mum asked me what I wanted to be now!
Instead of waiting until I grow up to decide what I want to do, mum thought we should just start.
I had just finished a modeling course and had started selling candles. I said to my mum I want to be everything I already am but add fashion design. So mum got me a drawing book and I started designing. Then we met a lady called Malika who sewed my designs. I also got a sewing machine and make dog toys and dresses for my dolls.
The intention of my business is to make the world more loving.
I was born in Qatar. My dad is Kenyan/Rwandese and my mum is Australian. I have two older sisters and four older brothers, so we are a big family.
In 2019 my brother Marley and I went to Kenya with mum and built two schools. I have cousins and friends who go to our schools in Kenya.
I decided to start my business so that I can use the profits to help the children in our schools in Kenya. They live in poor areas and don’t really have a lot.
So far I have already raised money to buy a sewing machine that my big sister uses to make sustainable sanitary pads and which will be used to make my fashion.
My brother and I put on an end-of-year dance and drumming concert with our profits.
I also created a campaign called Soaps4Soaps where I sell soaps and all the profits go towards buying soap and sanitation products in Kenya.
